Installing and Configuring HP Service Manager

Installation Steps:

Requirements:

1. Windows 2003SP2 or higher
2. Oracle/IBM DB2/MS SQL2005
3. Apache Tomcat server

First install the sql server 2005 and configure it.

1. Create a database SM7.
2. Create a login SM7admin with privileges.
3. Create ODBC Connection.

Open the sqlserver management studio.




After login to the sql server, create a new database.


Create a new login for service manager.



 Properties for the new login user.


 User successfully created.


 Now create a ODBC Connectivity.


Setting up a system DSN and the login credentials.


ODBC connected successfully.



Now HP SM source, open the clickme.html and start the HP Service Manager Installation.



Welcome screen.


Accept the end user license agreement.


Install Summary of the HPSM


HP SM is installing.


HP SM Successfully installed. Now we need to configure the HP SM.


HM SM Configuration wizard.


Select the default port.


Set the DB name and DB user credentials.



Verify and test the connection. It connected successfully.


Now upload the demo data of HPSM.


Now install the HP Service Manager Client. SM client configuration wizard.





 HP Sm Client is installing.



If you want to install HP SM Help server, then you select the Help server and install.




 HP SM Help server is installing.


Setup the help server port number and other configuration details.



Open the Help Server.



Open the HP Service Manager client and access the service manger.



Create a new connection with login credentials.



This dashboard of the HP Service manager.




 Listing the open incidents.


You connect the HP SM through web browser also.



Create a new ticket.




Login as an administrator



 List all the open interactions.

    I am trying to install HP Service Manager 9.0 in a remote database. Unfortunately the connection of the Service Manager fails with the database. I have checked the TCP/IP protocols are enabled and the port used is by default 1433.

    Any help will be appreciated.
