NetApp C-Mode Snapmirror Configuration

NetApp C-Mode Snapmirror Configuration

First Check the Cluster status using cluster show command.

Then check the snapmirror_DP license.

List the vserver information using vserver show command.

List aggregate information using aggregate show command.

In this article, i am using two nodes HACLUSTER-01 and HACLUSTER-02.

I am using vservers as VSD1 and VNEW1.

Create  a source volume name as svol in vserver VSD1.

Create a destination volume name as mvol at another vserver called VNEW1.

Create a job schedule for snapmirror.

Create a snapmirror relationship. Then check with the snapmirror status using the command snapmirror show.

The state is uninitialized.

Now you initialize the snapmirror relationship, then it will do the Base Line Transfer.

Once the initialization is successful, the status list as snapmirrored state.

Login to the source node. (HACLUSTER-02)

Create a new file with contents. Then list the file contents with rdfile command.

Now login to the other node and check that file.

Now you don't have that file, because it is not replicated.

As per the schedule source will replicate to the destination.

As per the schedule, now it is transferring the data from source to destination.

Now you can able to list the contents. So it is successfully replicated as per our schedule.

To break the mirror releationship, first quiesce  the file system.

Then break the mirror relationship.

To recreate the snapmirror relationship, do resync.
