NetApp Data Ontap 8.x 7-mode Aggregate Commands Tutorial


                        
 AGGREGATE RELATED COMMANDS


TO ADD A DISK TO AN EXISTING AGGREGATE:
Aggr add <aggr name> <no of disks>  

TO COPY AN AGGREGATE TO ANOTHER AGGREGATE:
Aggr copy start –s <snapshot name> -C <srcfiler> : <srcpath> <dstfiler> : <dstpath>

TO CHECK THE STATUS OF AGGREGATE COPY:
Aggr copy status

TO THROTTLE THE AGGR COPY OPERATION:
A) Aggr copy status (Get the operation number)
B) Aggr copy throttle <operation no> <throttle value> (Legal throttle value is 1 to 10)

TO STOP THE AGGR COPY OPERATION:
A) Aggr copy status (Get the operation number)
B) Aggr copy abort <all | operation no>

TO CREATE AN AGGREGATE:
Aggr create <aggr name> -B 32 –t <raid4 | raid_dp> <No of disks>

TO CREATE AN NEW MIRRORED AGGREGATE:
A) License the sync mirror local.
B) Aggr create <aggr name> -B 32 –m –t <raid4 | raid_dp> <No of disks> (min 4 disk required for mirrored aggregate of raid4 and 6 for mirrored raid_dp)

TO DESTROY A PLEX FROM AN AGGREGATE:
A) Aggr offline <plex name> -t <cifs timeout>
B) Aggr destroy <plex name> -f

TO DESTROY AN AGGREGATE:
A) Take all volumes inside aggregate offline
B) Remove all the volumes
C) Aggr offline <aggr name> -t <cifs timeout>
D) Aggr destroy <aggr name> -f

TO DESTROY A TRADITIONAL VOLUME:
A) Aggr offline <trad vol name> -t <cifs timeout>
B) Aggr destroy <trad vol name> -f

TO CHECK THE STATUS OF THE MEDIA SCRUB FOR DISK:
Aggr media_scrub status <tradvol | plex name | rg-name | -s disk names>

TO MIRROR AN EXISTING AGGREGATE:
A) Install sync mirror local License.
B) Offline the Aggr
C) Aggr mirror <aggr name> -f –v <victim aggregate> (there should be common snap shot copy)

TO MAKE AN AGGREGATE OFFLINE:
 Aggr offline <aggr name | plex name | tradvol name> -t <cifs time out>

TO MAKE AN AGGREGATE ONLINE:
Aggr offline <aggr name | plex name | tradvol name> -f

TO DISABLE SNAPSHOT OF AN AGGREGATE:
Aggr options <aggr name> nosnap on
               
TO CHANGE THE RAID TYPE FROM RAID-DP TO RAID4:
Aggr options <aggr name> raidtype raid4

TO SET SNAPSHOT AUTODELETE OF AN AGGR TO OFF:
Aggr options <aggr name> snapshot_autodelete off

TO CHANGE THE RAID SIZE OF AN AGGREGATE:
Aggr options <aggr name> raidsize <number>

TO RENAME THE AGGREGATE:
Aggr rename <old name> <new name>

TO START AGGREGATE SCRUB:
A) Options raid.scrub.enable off
B) Aggr scrub start <aggr name | plex name | rg name>

TO SEE STATUS OF AGGR SCRUB:
Aggr scrub status < aggr name | plex name | rg name>

TO SUSPEND AGGR SCRUB:
Aggr scrub suspend < aggr name | plex name | rg name>

TO RESUME AGGR SCRUB:
Aggr scrub resume < aggr name | plex name | rg name>

TO STOP AGGR SCRUB:
Aggr scrub stop < aggr name | plex name | rg name>

TO SEE SPACE OCCUPIED BY AGGR::
Aggr show_space <aggr name> -g (or) df –A –g

TO SPLIT THE MIRRORED AGGREGATE (SPLITTING THE PLEX):
Aggr split <aggr name | plex name> <new aggr name>

TO SEE WHAT ARE THE DISKS CONTRIBUTING TO AN AGGR:
Aggr status <aggr name> -r

TO SEE AGGR CHECKSUM STATUS:
Aggr status <aggr name> -c

TO SEE THE SPARE DISK AVAILABLE FOR AN AGREGATE:
Aggr status <aggr name> -s

TO SEE THE BROKEN DISK IN AGGREGATE:
Aggr status <aggr name> -f

TO UNDESTROY THE DELETED AGGREGATE IS:
A) Aggr undestroy <aggr name>
B) Select Undestroy
C) Priv set Advanced
D) Aggr wafliron start <aggr name>


TO VERIFY THE MIRRORED AGGREGATE:
Aggr verify start <aggr name | -f plex name>

TO MIGRATE AGGREGATE BETWEEN FILER:
A) Priv set Advanced
B) Offline all the Volume
C) Offline the Aggr
D) Aggr migrate <aggr name> <recipient aggr name> <recipient sym id>


TO GET THE FSID OF THE AGGREGATE:
A) Priv set Advanced
B) Aggr read_fsid <aggr name>

TO RESTRICT THE AGREGATE:
A) Make all the volumes offline
B) Aggr restrict <aggr name>

TO CHANGE THE FSID OF THE AGGREGATE:
A) Priv set Advanced
B) Restrict the Aggregate.
