HP COMMAND VIEW EVA TUTORIAL


HP COMMAND VIEW EVA 5000 Series:

HP EVA 5000 Storage Appliance Introduction:


To access the HP EVA 5000 Storage Appliance , access through the Command view EVA.

Type your access URL.
Provide the username and password.


Now you are getting the storage main page which you can discover your devices and configure your devices.

You can monitor your storage through this Tools tab.




You can click the devices tab, then you can discover, configure and manage devices in the storage system.



If you click command view , you can see the command view main page.

The new storage system is uninitialized now. We need to initialize first.




You press the initialize button, then your storage system start to initialize.


If you go for an initialization, then you will lose your existing data in the disks.


Set the storage name and number of disks.



Set the number of disks fail over.




Storage initialization completed successfully.



Now you can see the properties of the storage.


The following menus are available to configure:

Virtual Disk
Host
Disk Group
Data Replication
Hardware


Using these menus, we can create a virtual disk, add a host and manage hardware.


Using hardware menu you can see the hardware properties.



Expand your hardware(RACK1), you can see the controller enclosure and disk enclosures.



Controller Enclosure which has the two controller and their properties.
Controller A is active and good status.


In host ports tab, you can see the host port properties.


You can see the device ports properties in the device port tab.


Enclosure properties like temperature, blower, cache and power supplies.


Disk Enclosure tab, we man monitor power, cooling and I/O Communication properties.


You can check the power supply status using Power tab.


You can check the cooling status, by using Cooling Tab.



To check the I/O Communications, press I/O comm Tab.




To see the Disk Shelf Bay Details.



To list Disk bay and Disk drive details.


Creating Virtual Disks:

To see the vdisk folder Properties.


Creating a new vdisk folder with the name of DBSETHIL.



Adding hosts :




Specify the host information




Select the WWN of your host.
Select the host Operating System




Add a comment (Optional) then finish. This process will add the host to the HP EVA.


To list the Host Properties.



Creating Virtual Disk and RAID Level.



Select the size of the LUN and select the host to Map and Mask.




Now the vdisk successfully Created.




To see the vdisk properties and data replication.

Using this tab you can create snapshots and snapclones.



To list the available hosts.
