ontap 9 - NDMP Data Protection using Symantec Netbackup:
2. Disable the ndmp service for node level.
3. Enable the ndmp service for vservers.
4. Check the vserver is supporting the ndmp protocol.
5. Create a user account for the ndmp backup.
6. Generate the ndmp password for the user.
7. Check the firewall policy and add a rule to access the NDMP protocol.
8. Login to node shell and create a file using wrfile command.
9. Install the netbackup plugin on netbackup Master server.
10. Create a ndmp host to the netback master server.
11. Add a new line to an existing file.
12. Now successfully added to the netbackup server.
13. Then create a new policy for NDMP backup.
14. Create schedule as per your RTO and RPO.
15. Add the NDMP host which is your vserver or Node. Finally add the volume name which you need to take a backup.
16. Take a manual backup.
17. Backup successfully completed.
18. After taking backup, add one more line to an existing file.
19. Now you go for a restore, select the volume or file or multiple files.
20. Restoration successfully completed.
21. Now you can check the volume which has old data.
22. Now you can add a vserver also.
23. Create a new file and take a backup.
24. Now check in the backup image you can have a new file also.
Pre-Requisites:
1. Create an Intercluster role LIF
2. Select weather you need to configure NDMP node level or vserver Level.
3. Enable the ndmp service on node level or vserver level
