NetApp ONTAP All SAN Array (ASA)

 NetApp ONTAP ASA:

NetApp ONTAP ASA (All-Flash SAN Array) is a specialized deployment of NetApp ONTAP software optimized specifically for block storage workloads in SAN (Storage Area Network) environments.

Key Highlights of NetApp ONTAP ASA:

What It Is ?

ONTAP ASA is a version of NetApp’s ONTAP operating system, pre-configured and tuned for block-only workloads (iSCSI and Fibre Channel). It runs on all-flash hardware platforms, making it ideal for mission-critical applications that demand high IOPS, low latency, and robust data protection.

Key Features:

Block-Only Focus:
Unlike general ONTAP systems which support file (NFS/SMB) and block (iSCSI/FC), ASA systems are block-only for simplified SAN deployments.

All-Flash Performance:
Utilizes NetApp AFF (All-Flash FAS) hardware for ultra-low latency and high throughput.

Symmetric Active-Active Architecture:
Both controllers can serve the same LUNs concurrently, reducing path failover times and improving availability.
